Last update: November 25th, 2010 (Still under construction)
I've received a lot of questions when the movie Unstoppable came out. Here are few answers (I will not involve myself into what's possible and what's not! IT'S A MOVIE!). AWVR = Allegheny and West Virginia
AWVR 777 & 767
The main units AWVR 777 & 767 are leased AC4400CW Canadian Pacific engines. For filming purposes, there's 2 set of identical engines. One clean & normal while the other one is pretty damaged (used later in the movie).

Thank you to Tom Habak for theses amazing pictures!
Robert Smith pictures, inluding a fake cab for 777, pushed by a highrail truck!
Jon Owens who caught the 4 engines ready to return to Canadian Pacific (Thank you John!)

AWVR 1206
AWVR 1206 is played by 3 SD40-2 units from Wheeling & Lake Erie. The 1206's had small numbers on the frame to tell them apart, as did the 777's and 767's.

While 3 units are playing the role of 1206, it's the opposite story for the grey units. W&LE 6351 and 6352 are playing 2 different numbers!

THE CURVE
If you have a railfan heart, you cannot "not" like that curve! The now legendary curve is located in Bellaire Ohio. As you can see on the map, there are no fuel tanks near the curve. The final result is amazing. The bridge, the curve, it's really a great location!
MAP: Don't care about the "A". Look for the WYE in the middle of the image.

Inspired from true events...
The 777 story is based on the incident involving CSX 8888 (you see the pattern here..). It was on May 15th 2010, when a runaway CSX train with 47 cars left the yard, crewless.
